COSTUME DESIGNER / CRÉATEUR DE COSTUMES

Since 1974 Georges Lévesque has let his original perspective guide his creative whims. He hasperfected his technique through disassembling old garments. His career as a stylist took off when he joined forces with Michelle Hamel in 1976, launching together the Pur Hasard label. Refreshingly edgy, the pieces they created were often mentioned in magazines and newspapers.

The two quickly became known for their uncompromising creative styles and were approached by numerous artists looking for interesting stage costumes. The years went by and the Pur Hasard adventure came to an end; Lévesque pursued his dream with Scandale in 1985. The quality and eccentricity of work has been praised and recognized in Québec on many occasions. In 1994 Lévesque won the Elle Québec Best Design award.
